Built in the 17th century, remodelled in the 18th century and enlarged in the 19th century, the Hôtel Fayet is one of the city's architectural jewels.

It bears the name of the Fayet family, which embodies the prosperity of the wine industry in Bitteroise, and of which Gabriel (1832-1899) and his son Gustave (1865-1925) were the most distinguished representatives.

The hotel is built around a courtyard and a charming garden. From the XVIIIth century, it has kept a row of elegant living rooms, with a classical decoration and view on the garden. The Fayets, who moved in in 1864, equipped the hotel with all the comforts of the time (notably heating and a bathroom with running water). They lay out of the rooms to make it a spacious, modern and functional living environment.
